Mount Barker Country Fire Service is located on the South Eastern Freeway in the Adelaide Hills 35km East of the City of Adelaide, South Australia. The Mount Barker brigade is the largest brigade within the Heysen CFS group with it's primary response area covering 124 square kilometres with 17 square kilometres of this area being Urban including Housing, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Schools, Shopping Malls, Hotels, and Industrial areas. Mount Barker responds to an average of 380 emergency calls a year with over 35% of these calls being Motor Vehicle Accidents. Mount Barker is home to the Busiest Rescue in the Country Fire Service and prides itself on the professional fire and rescue service it provides to Hills residents.

At 09.01hrs CFS Fire-Fighters from Mt Barker were alerted to a Road Crash, Adelaide Road, Mount Barker. Barker Rescue & Barker 34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a two car MVA with one car rolling over. Crews made the scene safe and contained a large oil spill. CFS crews were back in station by 1040hrs.

 


 
CAR FIRE MT BARKER

At 01:51hrs Mt Barker CFS crews were alerted to a car fire SE Freeway Mt Barker. Barker Rescue and Barker 34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a car fully involved in fire. crews were back in station by 03.31hrs


 
   
   
FATIAL CAR CRASH LITTLEHAMPTION

At 08.44hrs Fire Service Communications alerted Mt Barker & Littlehampton CFS crews to a road crash rescue, Junction Road Littlehampton. Barker Rescue responded to the call. On arrival the incident commander reported a two car MVA with one patient trapped, suffering fatal injuries. Barker 34P was also responded as a default fire appliance. Crews made the scene safe and returned to station whilst SAPOL major crash finished their investigations. Barker rescue later returned to the scene to complete the extrication. All crews were back in station at 12:55 hours.


 
   
   
BUILDING IMPACT BALHANNAH

At 1040hrs Adelaide Fire Communications responded Mt Barker & Balhannah brigades, to a Building impact Junction road Balhannah. Mt Barker Rescue responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a single vehicle that had crashed into a butchers shop. Mt Barker Rescue crews used cutting equipment to assist in removal of the vehicle & making the area safe. Barker crews were back in station by 1130hrs


 
   
   
ONE TRAPPED IN NAIRNE CRASH

At 1730hrs Mt Barker CFS fire-fighters were alerted to a road crash rescue, Chambers road Nairne. Mt Barker Rescue & Nairne 24P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a car vs tree, with one person trapped. Fire-fighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the trapped occupant.

Mt Barker volunteer fire-fighters also attended today, a fire Alarm, a vehicle fuel leak and a rubbish fire.

At 11.59hrs Volunteer fire-fighters from Mt barker were alerted to a Road crash, old Mt Barker road, Mount Barker. Barker Rescue & Barker 34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a two car MVA with one car rolling over. Crews made the scene safe and contained a large oil spill. Mt Barker CFS crews were back in station by 1240hrs.


 
   
   
RUBBISH FIRE FOODLAND

At 1.38hrs Mt Barker fire-fighters were called to rubbish fire Hutchinson St Mt Barker. Mt Barker 34P & Pumper responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a large pile of cardboard boxes and the roof of the Foodland Shopping centre, loading dock on fire. Mt Barker CFS crews don breathing apparatuses and quickly contained the fire, stopping it from spreading into the shopping centre store room. Mt Barker crews were back in station by 0340hrs.


 
2ND ALARM GRASS FIRE

At 14.44 hrs CFS crews were alerted to a reported Grass fire, Vale Rd Highland Valley. Barker 24 & 34P responded to the call. On arrival Barker captain gave the first report of a Grass fire burning in Scrub & grassland.  The fire was soon contained with the assistance of CFS water bombers. Barker crews were back in station 1640hrs.

At 09:38hrs Mt Barker CFS crews were alerted to a car fire SE Freeway Mt Barker. Barker Rescue and Barker 34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a car on LPG fully involved in fire. crews were back in station by 1045hrs

At 16.08hrs Mount Barker fire-fighters were alerted to a Road Crash Rescue, Flaxley Road Mt Barker. Mt Barker Rescue & 34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a two car MVA, with one person trapped. Fire-fighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the trapped occupant. Crews were back in station at 1754hrs.
